Get a smooth, safe ride when towing your gooseneck trailer with the fifth-wheel hitch in your flatbed truck. The round tube is a universal fit for both 4" and 100-mm gooseneck stems with straight or angled pin holes.

Using a built-in air bag and rubber cushions, the Shocker Hitch Air gooseneck-to-fifth-wheel adapter acts like an air suspension between your truck and gooseneck trailer. The air bag and bumpers help absorb road shock, creating a smoother, more comfortable ride while also protecting your truck and trailer from wear and tear on the brakes, chassis, trailer frame, and suspensions.
The body of this coupler adapter is designed to pivot back and forth, as the air bag and the cushioned bumpers take turns absorbing the road shock. When you hit a bump and your trailer bounces or you brake suddenly and your trailer jolts forward, the unit pivots so that the air bag and 2 cushioned bumper stops can isolate and absorb the energy.
Using the easily accessible air valve on the top of the unit, you can adjust the air pressure in the air bag to best accommodate what you're hauling. If you're towing a full trailer, for example, 15-20 psi should get the job done. If, however, you're hauling industrial equipment, you might need to air it up to 25-35 psi to accommodate the heavy load. Once the equipment is unloaded, simply release some air so that your unloaded trailer won't experience a stiff ride.
If you happen to get stuck in a situation where you're unable to inflate the bag, there's no need to worry; you can still tow your trailer. Without the inflated air bag, you won't get the full benefit from the Shocker Hitch Air, but you'll still get some built-in cushion with the bumper stops.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the Shocker Hitch Air Cushion Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter. Now, if you have a flatbed truck with a low fifth wheel plate and you're looking for a smoother ride when towing your gooseneck trailer, this is really gonna be a great upgrade to consider. This is not designed for use with standard in-bed fifth wheel hitches, just so you're aware of that. But this will completely replace your factory gooseneck stem and coupler.
And this is going to let you add an instant air ride towing experience to your gooseneck trailer stem and you're gonna be able to pull it with your favorite truck and king pin coupler. Now, whether you occasionally tow or you're doing hotshot trucking, this gooseneck hitch is going to add that instant air ride experience to your hauling. So, this does have a gross towing weight of 30,000 pounds and a vertical load or maximum tongue weight limit of 7,000 pounds. And using the built-in airbag and rubber cushion bump stops that you can see right there, this Shocker Hitch Air is going to act like air suspension between your truck and gooseneck trailer. The airbag and the bumpers are going to help absorb the road shock, and that's going to result in a smoother, more comfortable ride while also protecting your truck and trailer from wear and tear on the brakes, the chassis, the trailer frame suspension.
And then in all of those different ways, this is going to help prolong the components of your towing setup. Now the body of this coupler adapter is designed to pivot back and forth as the airbag and the cushion bump stops are going to take turns absorbing the road shock. So for instance, when you hit a bump and your trailer bounces or you brake suddenly and your trailer jolts forward, this unit is going to pivot so that the airbag and the two cushion bump stops can isolate and absorb that energy. Using the easily accessible air valve, on the top it's Schrader valve on top of the unit here, you're gonna be able to adjust the air pressure in the airbag to best accommodate what you're hauling. So this is gonna be very easy to adjust right here.
And if you're towing a full trailer, for example, 15 to 20 PSI should get the job done. If, however, you're hauling industrial equipment, you might need to air it up to about 25 to 35 PSI to accommodate that heavier load. But once the equipment is unloaded, you're simply gonna release some of the air so that your unloaded trailer won't experience a stiff ride. This is gonna be pretty easy to maintain with the grease circ right there in front. So that's going to keep that pivot point there lubricated.
I wanna give you a closer view right here just so you can see that this is gonna be a universal fit. This is gonna work with your 4-inch and 100-millimeter round stems with straight or angle pin holes. As you can see here, we do have three height adjustment holes. And this is gonna be compatible with 10 to 30 degree angle pin holes. And the distance between these pinholes on center, this is gonna be right at 2 5/8ths inches on center. And so, this is gonna be pretty easy to adjust. I've got the pin in this hole right here. But if you need to pivot or angle this tube in a slightly different angle to match up the tube that you're going to be sliding this in, you're just going to remove this pin and clip and then twist this tube to that angle that you're going to need. So again, this is gonna be pretty flexible with your current trailer in that tube that it has to slide into. So, as you probably already noticed as well, this does have an offset, and this is gonna give you a 3-inch offset. And the reason for that is this is going to give you extra clearance between your truck cab and your trailer for those sharper turns. This is made here in the USA. It's very durable. It's shot-blasted and powder-coated steel. So this is gonna be very durable, very strong. Shocker Hitch is known for making pretty strong and robust products, and I really like their upgraded finish that they have on here. It's kind of like a textured finish with their trademark red paint on that. So, I think this is gonna hold up pretty well for you. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
I was totally amazed by this hitch. Excellent work quality and fit perfect. Night and day difference in the ride. I’m using it on a flat bed pulling tractors and equipment. I wouldn’t want to pull a trailer without this hitch. Should have bought one years ago.
